| Description: | The position is primarily responsible for working within the gas design engineering environment to enhance and develop gas apparatus. |
| Duties: | Develop new gas apparatus designs and improvements to existing design;
Maintain the security, accuracy and completeness of all information, files and data created, including but not limited to drawings, Change Notices, time sheets, BOMs, and project schedules;
Ensure that all designs are cost effective by performing cost analyses of new designs or changes in existing designs to obtain the most cost effective, quality product required, including decisions on material selection, fabrication and assembly techniques, tolerance requirements, vendor specifications, etc;
Ensure that all designs are safe and operational while conforming to applicable standards;
Support production of customer orders, and servicing, by working very closely with all team members focusing on the customer requirements as the goal;
Follow through on problems / complaints / suggestions from other departments concerning improvements to products or designs;
Estimate design requirements and project and product costing based on requests received from other departments;
Assist in updating or creating product test procedures;
Assist in the design of prototype equipment, build and create engineering drawings (2D and 3D).

| Qualifications: | Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field or foreign degree equivalent;
1.5 years experience (school and/or work) in gas/fluid flow development and/or combustion design and testing;
Proficiency in flow devices, mixing and combustion processes;
Experience with FLUENT software, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) techniques;
Knowledge of CAD systems.
